Device Donations
Your donations help our resources go further to bring technology access to more people in the communities we serve! We take your devices, give them a new life, and distribute them at no cost to families and individuals who do not have a device in their homes! Help us equip, connect, and inspire the next generation by reusing your technology devices!
Compudopt will accept drop-off's Monday - Friday 9 AM - 2 PM without any appointment necessary at all of our physical locations ( Houston, Mesa, Atlanta, Chicago, San Antonio, and Dallas). We also provide free pickup of donations over 25 devices within a 50 mile radius of our physical locations and gladly accept device donations shipped to one of our physical locations via post or freight. We work with larger donors to provide - on - premises device sanitization and logistics services nationwide.
If you are not close to one of our locations, we have partnered with Micro Center, a leading technology retailer, to accept donations at all 28 of their stores for only working laptops and desktops in working condition.
How to Donate
- Visit a
Micro Center site donation center.

Technical staff wipe all data bearing devices in accordance with the NIST 800-88 PURGE standard
- Devices are cleaned, refurbished, and loaded with a Linux-based operating system called Ubuntu or Windows 10 depending on the needs of the community members.
- Devices are then distributed to families without their own computer at home at our drive-thru operations. All computers are completely free to the families who receive them and include 2-years of free technical support.
- Corporations, organizations, or individuals donate computers and receive a tax receipt.

Tax Deductions - All donations are tax-deductible. Note: the IRS code prohibits non-profit organizations from determining a fair market value for goods donated in-kind.
